【摘要】:Forthebroadrangeofcommercialrubbergradecarbonblacks,tintstrengthishighlydependentuponparticlesize.Tintstrengthcanbeusedasanindicationofparticlesize;however,tintstrengthisalsodependentonstructureandaggregatesizedistribution.Therefore,differencesintintstrengthwithingradesofcarbonblackmayreflectdifferencesotherthanparticlesize.Note18212;ThistestmethodwasdevelopedprimarilyforthecharacterizationofN100,N200,andN300seriescarbonblacks.TintstrengthvalueswithinthecarbonblackindustryhavebeendevelopedusingaHooverMullerapparatuswhichisusedtopreparecarbonblack-zincoxidepastes.Anewmixingapparatus,SpeedMixer3(DAC150FVZ),andacorrespondingprocedurehavebeenextensivelystudiedwithinD24andshowntoprovideequivalenttintstrengthforallcarcassorsoftblacksandmosttreadblackswiththeexceptionofhighersurfaceareaN100typesandspecialtyblacks.Therefore,itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisalternateapparatustoensuretheirproductswilladequatelydisperse.DisputesarisingbetweenauserandproducershouldberesolvedusingtheHooverMullerapparatusuntilASTMdevelopsadequateprecisionstatements.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetintstrengthofcarbonblackrelativetoanindustrytintreferenceblack(ITRB).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
