【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverschemicalandmechanicalrequirementsforeightgradesofcarbonandalloysteelnutsforgeneralstructuralandmechanicalusesonbolts,studs,andotherexternallythreadedparts.Note18212;SeeAppendixX1forguidanceonsuitableapplicationofnutgrades.1.2Therequirementsforanygradeofnutmay,atthesupplier''soption,andwithnoticetothepurchaser,befulfilledbyfurnishingnutsofoneofthestrongergradesspecifiedhereinunlesssuchsubstitutionisbarredintheinquiryandpurchaseorder.1.3GradesC3andDH3nutshaveatmosphericcorrosionresistanceandweatheringcharacteristicscomparabletothatofthesteelscoveredinSpecificationsA242/A242M,A588/A588M,andA709/A709M.Theatmosphericcorrosionresistanceofthesesteelsissubstantiallybetterthanthatofcarbonsteelwithorwithoutcopperaddition(see5.2).Whenproperlyexposedtotheatmosphere,thesesteelscanbeusedbare(uncoated)formanyapplications.Note28212;AcompletemetriccompaniontoSpecificationA563hasbeendevelopedx2014;A563M;therefore,nometricequivalentsarepresentedinthisspecification.1.4TermsusedinthisspecificationaredefinedinTerminologyF1789unlessotherwisedefinedherein.
