【摘要】:ThisPartofBS4274specifiesminimumrequirementsfortestchartsandtesttypesemployinguprightsans-serifcapitallettersforuseintheclinicaldeterminationofdistancevisualacuity.NOTEUnlessotherwiseindicatedbythecontext,theword"letter"includes,inanyorientation,thesingleletterC(Landoltorbrokenring)andthesingleletterE(illiterateE).ThisPartofBS4274isprimarilyintendedforclinicalmeasurementsbutmaybeusedforotherpurposessuchasscreening,certificationandlicensing.Itisnotapplicabletochartprojectors,chartsortypesdesignedforspecializeduse(e.g.crowdingsymbols,lowercaseletters,isolatedletters,lowvisionevaluationandcontrastsensitivitytesting).NOTEThisBritishStandardmakesnoreferencetosurroundingluminancebecausethisrelatestotheconditionsintheconsultingroomorclinicitselfandthisisoutsidetheScopeofthisBritishStandard.Nevertheless,thelevelofsurroundingluminancecanseriouslyaffectthevisualacuityscoresobtained,forexample,byproducingglareorexcessivecontrast.Attention,therefore,shouldbepaidtothelevelofsurroundingluminancewheninstallingandutilizingthesetestcharts.
