【摘要】:Theinspection,testing,andrepairofsewerpipejointsisapracticethatcanassistinmaintainingandoptimizingsewerperformance.Itisimportanttoidentifymethodsthatusethemostcurrentcompoundsandtechnologytoensurethereductionofinfiltrationandexfiltration.Themethodselectedshouldutilizeenvironmentallysafegroutandminimizethedisruptionoftraffic.Thispracticeservesasameanstoinspect,test,andsealsewerpipejoints,havingselectedtheappropriatechemicalgrouts,usingthepackermethod.Televisioninspectionandjointtestingareusedtoidentifysewerlineconditions,defectivejoints,anddocumenttherepairsundertaken.Instructiononjointsealing,ifnecessary,isthendetailed,usingpressureinjectionintothesoilsencompassingthepipejointwithachemicalgrout(chemicalsealingmaterial).Thispracticeshouldnotbeusedforlongitudinallycrackedpipe,severelycorrodedpipe,structurallyunsoundpipe,flattened,orout-of-roundpipe.Inareaswithhighgroundwaterpressure,greaterthan10psi(68.9ksi)atthetestpoint,consultequipmentmanufacturers.1.1Thispracticedescribestheproceduresfortestingandsealingindividualsewerpipejointswithappropriatechemicalgroutsusingthepackermethod.Sewersystemsshallincludesanitary,storm,andcombinedandtheirappurtenances.Chemicalgroutingisasoilsealingprocess,whichsealsthevoidswithinthesoilsurroundingtheexteriorofthepipeatthepointofleakage.Chemicalgroutingisnotconsideredastructuralrepair.1.2Thispracticeappliestosewers6to42in.(18to107cm)indiameter.Largerdiameterpipemaybegroutedwithspecializedpackersormanentrymethods.Hostpipeinteriorsurfacesmustbeadequatetocreateaneffectivesealforthepackerelements.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4Workersafetytrainingshouldincludereviewingthehazardsassociatedwithhoses,pumps,tanks,couplers,compressors,bottles,motors,andallotherrelatedapplicationapparatus.Additionalsafetyconsiderationsincludingsafelyhandling,mixing,andtransportingofchemicalgroutsshouldbeprovidedbythechemicalgroutmanufacturerorsupplierorboth.Theirsafeoperatingpracticesandproceduresshoulddescribeindetailappropriatepersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)forthevariousgroutingoperations.Operationscoveredshouldincludetheproperstorage,transportation,mixing,anddisposalofchemicalgrouts,additives,andtheirassociatedcontainers.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
