【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresformeasuring,classifying,anddeterminingthepresenceofdecarburizationandcarburizationinthethreadedsectionofhardenedandtemperedmetricsteelbolts,screws,studs,andsimilarpartswhichhavebeenheatedtofacilitatefabricationortomodifyitsmechanicalproperties.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtoaddressproductswhichareintentionallycarburizedtoachievespecificresults.1.2Tworoutinemethodsaredescribedformeasuringthelimitsofanddeterminingthepresenceofdecarburizationorcarburization;theOpticalMethodandtheMicroindentationMethod1.Eithermethodisappropriateforroutineexaminations.TheMicroindentationMethod2shallbeconsideredtherefereemethod.1.3Forthepurposeofthesetests,therearefourclassesofhardenedandtemperedsteelproductsforwhichspecificmeasurementsmustbemadewithrespecttotheirphysicalproperties.1.4solely-SI-units;Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
